DYING HAIR?!?!?! .. help?

I want to dye my hair a new, fresh and fun color !

I'm tired of my medium/dark brown hair.

I however have pretty dark colored eyebrows, but they're thin..

can I dye my hair any light colors with out it looking odd?

Is lightening your hair a bad idea when it's so dark?

can I dye it blonde or will it turn another color?

My sister's hair was dark brown (also her eyebrows), and she used a pharmacy brand hair color to dye her hair honey blond and it worked! She even dyed her eyebrows (which you have to be really careful about, and you can't leave it on that long). She loves her new look, and has since switched to using organic haircolor which you can buy at Whole Foods-Whole Body. The only problem she has is that her hair grows so fast that in 2 weeks are dark roots start showing.

As long as your hair is virgin hair, with no previous permanent color in it, it should color really well if this is your first time. Make sure you deep condition it afterwards to minimize any drying and to keep moisture in your hair. Lightening your hair is supposed to be more stressful on your hair shaft than darkening it, because you are stripping the color out of your hair.
