If you have medium/dark brown hair, could you get lightened up to a dark blonde/light brown?

Currently, my hair is medium/dark brown and I would love to be the shade of Jennifer Aniston. Is this possible if I go to a salon?

I've done this to my hair many times. I'm actually known with my friends as having my "many phases" of hair color and cuts...always dark, then light...long then short. My suggestion would be, if you want to save money and not have it done professionally, try to find a Sally's Beauty Supply located near you. They supply to professionals and us "normal" people without licenses. Their staff is well trained to help you find the right product to lighten your hair. You will probably have to bleach it, but you can use different "volumes" of developer to get it to the lightness you want. This is the best way, because by using a developer which is less strong, you won't fry your hair like everyone else is saying. Also, if you plan on dying it after bleaching it, give your hair a day to rest in between. So do this preferably on a weekend, or if you don't mind going outside with a little more "blonde" hair, then do it whenever. Giving it a day gives your hair time to rest from the first treatment and will make it soak up the dye better on the second day.

For sure, but it'll take a while to bleach and hurt a lot. And be really fried.

I think it depends on the colorist. You know, they have to mix the colors, usually and they have to leave it on there for just the right amount of time. Summer is the perfect time to lighten your hair. Good Luck!

Not without frying your hair. If you try to go lighter than your hair color, it won't work out how you want it. However, it is possible to get highlights, it would be just as pretty, and you could keep your natural color.

when your hair dries your hair looks a lot lighter than before

there are some hair sprays that make your hair lighter

it can go from dark brown to almost blonde

i don't know about the salon part

If you are paying for it. For sure. But please don't let a friend con you in doing it for you. They'll mess it up. Show the salon a sample of what you want.

yea if u go to salon u will sure to get a blonde color.. if your hair could not take in the color, perhaps your stylist will bleah it, but for ur color mostly u dun need to... so no worries u will be able to get the color u wan in hair salon.
