Professional advice please: what is the best method to dye medium brown hair to blonde?

I have naturally medium brown hair, but I like it blonde. What is the best method to use and what color(s) should I use to get blonde hair? (I mean, foils, all over color? and what colors are good to use?) I am willing to maintain the look however I need to (once a month at most, I suppose) and I don't want obvious roots.

Professional stylist here. If you want low maintenance always go with highlights especially if you don't want obvious roots. If you go 'all over" blonde as the roots grow in next to very light hair they will look black...even when the natural hair is light brown so.....be wary. I highly recommend it being professionally done as the worst thing in the world is an "orange' bottle blonde. It is NOT easy to correct........and will cost much more $$$$$ for color correction work. When lifting your hair color this much,its best to go to a professional.You could really really damage your own hair,turn it orange as well as break it off.

My sister tried to go from brown to blonde hair by herself. Her hair turned orange! She had to go to a professional to fix it! It still looked a little weird for a couple of months. GO to a professional!
