should I dye my dark to medium brown hair

LIGHT BROWN?

My mom bought a Nice and Easy permanent hairdye kit, in light brown..

she decided not to use it because she's into dark brown hair dye now and prefers darker colors on her (which I do too!)

Will it look good oon me?!

Only if it lightens then dyes, if it doesn't you wont see a difference. Some dyes in the shops now have a system where they lighten the hair then dye thats what you need if you want to avoid bleach(which if I was you would avoid as much as poss)

The first answer was correct in telling you that only a haircolor that has some degree of lift will lighten your hair. There are many now available in drugstores (look for boxes marked "For Dark Hair") Most "regular" dyes do not have enough lift, and will not lighten your hair.

As for whether or not it will look good on you is impossible to tell without knowing your skin tone, eye color, etc. You could always try it, and if you don't like it, you could go back (it is easier to darken hair than to lighten it). A rule of thumb for hair color is that if you have to wear more makeup to look "normal", then it is not the right color for you.
