Dying hair red?

i have medium-ish brown hair and i'm going to dye it medium/dark aburn red (cinnaberry in the clairol natural instincts dye) but i don't want it quite as bright red as the dye makes it.

i've used this brand of dye to make my hair dark, dark brown before, so i know that you're supposed to leave the dye on for about 10 minutes, if i leave it on 6 or 7 instead, will it just make it a little lighter or will it effect the dye job entirely?

I use Cinnaberry all of the time. I am pretty certain that with your light hair- even 6 or 7 minutes will still make it dark. BUT as you know it will wash out a bit in a weeks time and you will have the color you crave. I love Natural Instincts- good luck!

that`ll work just watch it turn in the mirror and as soon as u see the right color wait 1 more min and wash right away..good luck and i hope this helps!
