I love the highlights where there is red underneath (bottom layer) and top layer is bruinette with golden highlights... that is what I would do.. IF I had any money.. :D

stay away from the ahe bases - they will turn your hair orange

something that looks natural. anything too light or outstanding looks CHEESY. get highlights a shade or two lighter than your normal color.

L'Oreal Couleur Experte, I personally LOVED Almond Roca #6.0, it is a two step base color and a highlight that is really easy to do at home and looked really good. My hair is about waist long and light brown too.

Wine brown sounds good, make sure you don't streak blonde...that looks tacky.
