The only brand I ever use is Garnier. It smells great, works FANTASTIC, and doesn't kill my hair. I went from DARK brown to blond using it, and it worked so great! Good Luck!

I'm going to be honest with you...I have been doing hair for a long time. If you truly have medium brown hair...

and you really want to go blond....unfortunately, you need to either strip your colour, or bleach it. Nothing on the shelves will take care of you properly. You will end up with an orangy, copper colour. The only thing that might work from the shelves would be Blondissma....but you have to leave it on for 90 minutes....so make sure you have a deep conditioner handy!!

go to a bueaty supply store and look for a brand called "KALIDESCOPE" they have to levels. for black hair and from light brown hair. you will need to buy a package of this and some 20 volume developer. If you have questions the ladies in the store are really helpful (well, most stores are) but if you still have that brasy color wait 2 - 3 days and use a boxed hair color over it. it should now come out the color the box says it should be.

Hi there. I am not sure if you have a sally's beauty supply by you (you might want to try local.yahoo.com ) but they carry hair color and beauty products that salons use. If you go there and tell them what you are looking for (ask for high-lift color for no brassiness) they should be able to find you the color (seperate tube) and the mixing agent (seperate bottle) for under $5. This works out the best for me.

If you don't have a Sally's by you, Garnier Nutrisse brand (sold at Target, Walmart, etc) works really well to go from Brown to Blonde. :) Hope this helps.

This wont make you completely blonde, but will at least give you some very nice, natural highlights...on a nice, sunny day put lemon juice in your hair (yes, i know its sticky) and sit outside for a while. leave it in as long as possible and then wash it out later that day or night. this really does work! i know, i have been doing this for a long time!

P.S. ITS NATURAL!

From experience, I would recommend going to a salon. BUT, there it a product you can buy in stores called Clairol Born Blonde. Try the Maxi shade, it can make even black hair blonde. I've never tried it myself, but it says it works without brassiness and leaving it healthy.
