consider getting some medium layers and an angled front. You could have traditional bangs, or have a sweep bang. I would recommend having it thinned by someone you trust as well. Ask friends and family who have thick hair you admire for recomendations (stylists), and how about a few strategically placed highlights to show off your best features?
