Does anyone know about color fillers?
I have golden blonde hair,(highlighted with bleach) wanting to go back to my medium golden brown hair, I have purchased the protein Color Filler, and light golden brown hair color.
The directions on this bottle is sorta bland.
Am I supposed to put this filler in my haircolor? Or on my hair
so many minutes before I color?
Rince out? or keep in my hair, then apply the hair color?
These sort of basics are not on the bottle directions.
I have had some horrible hair experiences in the past as in using a medium brown,(without a filler) and my hair turned DARK, dark black with no shine whatsoever, or it went green (EKKKK)
Advise would be appreciated, thanks

OK. This is really tricky but can be done yourself if you can't get to a professional. Highlights will take more of the "off" (green) color or base of the color you want to put on it. So, you'll have to use a darkest golden blond or use half of the light golden brown with it to get the light brown a little lighter. Do not use any color that says ash. Ash=green in the color world. Now, the filler is for porous hair and fills in the porosity in the hair shaft so the color will take evenly. So here are the directions: 1) put the filler generously through your hair and put a plastic cap over it. You will need towels or cotton strips because it will get drippy. Go under a hot dryer for 20 minutes. If no dryer blow dry till its hot. 2) DO NOT COMB out because the protein in the filler gets dry and will tangle your hair, but rinse out and blow your hair dry. 3) Add some more filler to the color and apply as usual. The ends are more porous so apply there last. But I would have gone with a red filler (red color corrects green) for those really warm gold brown you are looking for, but gold is OK. The next time you do your color go with the same procedure but with the lightest golden brown, I use Clairol Second Nature Lightest Golden Brown for the best natural color that won't got an off color. You won't get it perfect the first shot but it will be just right when it is time to do it again. All color stays on at least 30 minutes. I do hope this helps.

I'm not really sure what you mean by "filler", but most hair dyes come with a tube of color and a tube or bottle of peroxide (usually white in color). When you dye your hair, you are supposed to mix the peroxide and color together before dying your hair. In your case, because you are darkening your hair, you might want to put just a little water in it to replace some of the peroxide. Peroxide is a lightener and is used to mix with just about all hair colors prior to use. You shouldn't use a color straight from the tube without mixing it. By adding the water, you will dilute the peroxide and you won't get any "lift", so you shouldn't have to worry about some spots being lighter than others. Remember to only use as much water as you have taken out of peroxide (ie, if you take out 1oz of peroxide, put in 1oz of water). Then you can do an all over application. Section your hair into four equal parts (usually each side, then from the top to the bottom of your head along where your ear is (behind the ear). Apply the color all over and thoroughly comb the color all the way thru so that it is even. Keep it on for about 20 minutes, then rinse it out until the water is running clear. Hope this answers your question. Good luck

a filler is used to replace the missing color that you bleached away so when you want to return to your normal color all the hair on your head will dye the same color and you will have good results.........use the filler first (20 min) then rinse and dry your hair then do your all over color
