There is no going back to gray. You will have to let it grow out and cut it off. Or you could strip the color out and tone it to a lighter color. If you are doing it yourself get help from someone that knows what they are doing. Color does not remove color.

if you used peroxide with the hair dye, you are out of luck ... unless you totally bleach the color out and then start over. you can use dawn dish soap to lighten it up and then you can use a temporary rinse on it until it grows out. get it cut short and live with it ... sorry ...
