yes it is i'd go lighter , brown can turn green on blonde hair and it fades easy on blonde hair because it's porous and slides out so go lighter or you can get lowlights instead (streaks of a darker blonde )

i would suggest that if you do ...then use a semi permanant ... it will fade gradually and is not so damaging on the hair .. as it fades with washes

First before you dye your hair take the time to figure out if this is what you want to do ok. Some people take dyeing their hair to an extreme and this is not good because the more you dye your hair the more you can damage your hair. I would suggest using a temparary dye that will wash out in weeks to see if you like the color and how it looks on you. Some people look good with a certain hair color and it also depends on your skin type. Once you dye your hair from blonde to brown it would be hard on your hair to change it back once its permantently colored its hard to change. Not only that you have to consider if you use a permanent dye that you would have to touch up your roots as they grow out. Its recommended that you dye your hair only once a month. The correct term is color your hair, and you should go to a professional, maybe start by having them weave a darker brown into your hair to see if you like having the brown in your hair. It is much harder to remove color from your hair if you do it yourself and it doesn't turn out. It can cost much more for color correction than just seeing a stylist from the very start, and just because over the counter color says it washes out in so many washings is not neccessarily true.
